Polyethylene (PE) CAS 9002-88-4 is a thermoplastic resin produced by polymerization of ethylene monomers. In industry, it also includes copolymers of ethylene and a small amount of a-olefins. Polyethylene is odorless, non-toxic, and feels like wax, with excellent low temperature resistance (minimum usage temperature can reach -100~-70 ° C). Good chemical stability, due to the carbon carbon single bond connection within the polymer molecules, it is resistant to most acids and alkalis (not resistant to acids with oxidizing properties). Insoluble in general solvents at room temperature, with low water absorption and excellent electrical insulation.
Polyethylene is very sensitive to environmental stress (chemical and mechanical effects) and can be processed using general thermoplastic molding methods. Polyethylene has a wide range of uses, mainly used in the manufacturing of films, packaging materials, containers, pipelines, monofilament, wires and cables, daily necessities, and can be used as high-frequency insulation materials for television, radar, etc. With the development of petrochemical industry, polyethylene production has rapidly developed, accounting for about 1/4 of the total plastic production. As of 2021, the world’s total production capacity is 133 million tons, and it is expected to reach 157.02 million tons by the end of 2023.

Application
High pressure polyethylene: More than half of it is used for thin film products, followed by pipes, injection molded products, wire wrapping layers, etc.

Ultra high pressure polyethylene: Due to its excellent comprehensive properties, it can be used as an engineering plastic.
