Orange yellow uniform powder, 0.1% aqueous solution appears yellow and odorless. Soluble in water, glycerol, and propylene glycol, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in oils and fats. The solubility at 21 ℃ is 11.8% (water) and 3.0% (50% ethanol). Good heat resistance, acid resistance, light resistance, and salt resistance, stable for citric acid and tartaric acid, but poor oxidation resistance. Turns red when exposed to alkali and fades when reduced. The maximum absorption wavelength is 428nm ± 2nm. Rat oral LD50 is greater than 2000mg/kg, with ADI ranging from 0 to 7.5mg/kg (FAO/WHO, 1994).
Purpose
As a food coloring agent, China stipulates that it can be used in fruit juice (flavored) beverages, carbonated beverages, prepared wines, green plums, shrimp (flavored) slices, pickled vegetables, red and green candies, pastry colored packaging, and canned watermelon sauce, with a maximum usage of 0.1g/kg; The maximum usage amount in plant protein beverages and lactobacillus beverages is 0.05g/kg; The maximum usage in ice cream is 0.02g/kg.
