Physical property
Soluble in ether; Benzyl benzoate; Phthalate diester; Non volatile oil; Propylene glycol; Volatile oil. Dissolve in 6 times the volume of 60% ethanol. Slightly soluble in water, insoluble in glycerol. Has blue fluorescence and discoloration due to long-term exposure.
Purpose
This product can be used as an intermediate for pesticides and saccharin. Methyl anthranilate has the sweet smell of tower flower and grape like smell when diluted. It is used for blending cheap artificial flower oil, as well as soap flavor or grape essence. GB 2760-86 in China stipulates that edible spices are allowed to be used. It is mainly used to prepare grape, citrus, loganberry, strawberry, watermelon and other essence. Ortho aminobenzoic acid esters can react with aldehydes to produce valuable soapy flavor, for example, hydroxy aromatic aldehyde reacts with methyl ortho aminobenzoate to obtain the following flavor. This spice is already commercially available in China, with the trade name Aurantiol. The oral LD50 of rats is 2910mg/kg, while that of mice is 3900mg/kg.
