CAS 12125-02-9 Ammonium chloride
Ammonium chloride CAS 12125-02-9, abbreviated as ammonium chloride, is an inorganic substance with the chemical formula NH4Cl. It refers to the ammonium salt of hydrochloric acid and is often a by-product of the alkali industry. Containing 24% to 26% nitrogen, it is a white or slightly yellow square or octahedral small crystal, with two dosage forms: powdered and granular. Granular ammonium chloride is not easily hygroscopic and easy to store, while powdered ammonium chloride is more commonly used as a basic fertilizer for the production of compound fertilizers. It belongs to physiological acidic fertilizer and is not suitable for use on acidic and saline alkali soils due to its high chlorine content. It is not suitable for use as seed fertilizer, seedling fertilizer, or foliar fertilizer, nor for use on chlorine sensitive crops such as tobacco, potatoes, citrus, tea trees, etc. Ammonium chloride has high and stable fertilizer efficiency when used in rice fields, as chlorine can inhibit nitrification in rice fields, promote fiber formation in rice stems, increase toughness, and reduce rice lodging and pest invasion.

Purpose
1. Can be used as raw materials to manufacture dry batteries and batteries, other ammonium salts, electroplating additives, and metal welding fluxes;
2. Used as a dyeing assistant, as well as for tin and zinc plating, leather tanning, medicine, candle making, adhesive, chrome infiltration, and precision casting;
3. Used in pharmaceuticals, dry batteries, textile printing and dyeing, and detergents;
Ammonium chloride can dissolve phlegm and relieve cough
① Ammonium chloride enters the body, and some ammonium ions are quickly metabolized by the liver to form urea, which is excreted by urine. Chloride ions combine with hydrogen to form hydrochloric acid, thereby correcting alkalosis.
② Due to the chemical stimulation of the mucosa, it reflexively increases the amount of phlegm, making it easier to expel, thus facilitating the clearance of a small amount of mucus that is not easily coughed up. After being absorbed, chloride ions enter the blood and extracellular fluid to acidify urine.
Prohibit and use with caution
(1) Discontinued for patients with liver and kidney dysfunction, and used with caution to prevent hyperchloretic acidosis.
(2) In patients with sickle cell anemia, it can cause hypoxia or (and) acidosis.
(3) Patients with ulcer disease and metabolic acidemia should not use it.
(4) Prohibited for pregnant and lactating women
(5) Children use under the guidance of a doctor
4. Used as crop fertilizer, suitable for crops such as rice, wheat, cotton, hemp, vegetables, etc;
5. Used as an analytical reagent, such as preparing an ammonia ammonium chloride buffer solution. Used as a supporting electrolyte in electrochemical analysis. Used as an arc stabilizer for emission spectrum analysis, an interference inhibitor for atomic absorption spectrum analysis, and for testing the viscosity of synthetic fibers;
6. Medicinal ammonium chloride is used as an expectorant, diuretic, and expectorant;
7. Yeast feed (mainly used for beer brewing); Dough conditioner. Generally used after mixing with sodium bicarbonate, the dosage is about 25% of sodium bicarbonate or 10-20g/kg of wheat flour. Mainly used in bread, biscuits, etc. Processing aids (GB 2760-96)
